In south Louisiana, hurricanes are a potential threat every year. To that end, we need your help to ensure that our shelter pets are happy and safe – be it a shelter in place situation, or an evacuation – should a storm threaten our area. Each year we revisit and revise our hurricane plan. This is where YOU come in! If you can help with any other the following items to assist during a storm, please let us know! THE FOLLOWING ARE CURRENT NEEDS:
1. Anyone who either has or knows someone who has animal transport vehicles, cattle trailers, etc. and would be willing to assist us (whether donated or for a fee) in transporting our animals to an evacuation site in the event that we would need to evacuate.
2. A 3 phase 200 amp natural gas generator
3. Two 1,000 gallon potable water tanks or three or four 500 gallon capacity potable water tanks for our shelter in place plan
