Lucky today with Jessica, one of her fans, waiting to go to her new home with one of our local volunteers who fell in love with this sweet, little girl.

This “lucky” kitty fell out of the engine of a car on the highway, definitely not so lucky, but there were Department of Transportation and Development (DODT) workers — and animal lovers — in that area who saw the whole thing. The men rushed over fearing the worst, but Lucky seemed okay other than a bump on her head and back. One of the workers, Mike, knew right where to bring Lucky as ARNO had helped him with some feral cats in his yard a few months before.

Lucky was immediately brought to one of our rescue clinics and examined by one of our veterinarians. The tiny little girl was diagnosed ‘in shock with a slight concussion,’ but only a stay overnight was warranted for observation. The next morning she came back to her new ARNO shelter home. She quickly became one of our volunteers’ favorites…she was so small, yet so feisty and loving.

Lucky dreams of an even happier ending, as she is now ready to be adopted by someone who will give her a loving, permanent home. Is that person she is waiting for you? Lucky would make an excellent addition to any family.  ARNO thanks Mike, our DODT buddy, and Michele for this lucky kitty’s happy ending!

Robin Beaulieu, ARNO Shelter Director and Rescue Coordinator, carefully cleans off tiny Lucky’s head wound as DODT workers look on. Thankfully Lucky’s fall from the engine of a moving car was witnessed by these state transportation workers.
